What’s your role at Flexe? #
I am a Software Development Engineer on the Pick and Sort (PAS) team focused on in-warehouse logistics. We develop the technology that directs workers on the floor to pick and sort items efficiently.
Why did you choose to work at Flexe? #
The interview experience reflects an organization’s culture. And my Flexe interviews were the best experience I’ve ever had. My Flexe interviewers were kind and understanding. They patiently explained their work and the logistics industry. I previously worked in eCommerce, so I was new to logistics and intrigued by the problems Flexe solves. That curiosity, and my fantastic interview experience, made Flexe the right choice for me.
At Flexe, we can be our authentic selves. The leadership team believes in transparency. And that gives employees the ability to ask hard questions and provide genuine feedback.
What makes working at Flexe great? #
Flexe focuses on communication. That’s reflected in the people who work here and the company culture. Managers schedule weekly one-on-one meetings to discuss growth opportunities and career goals. Twice a year, Flexe launches a 360 degree feedback process where we receive real and actionable feedback from peers to help us grow. Plus Flexe has a Praise Wall where we can shout out our peers!

Flexe culture fosters an excellent work/life balance. We have employees all over the U.S. And people respect different working hours. The Engineering division holds a no-meetings policy on Thursday which gives us a full day to focus on development work.
What employee-led activity did you recently participate in? #
I volunteered with PhilanthroFlexe to clean up trash for Earth Day. Two other Flexies joined me in my area, and Flexe provided what we needed to pick up trash. Flexe provides yearly volunteer PTO days, and we even got Earth Day swag!

What’s your favorite part about working with your team? #
My favorite part about Flexe’s Technology Organization is the dev community. The team is always ready to help, whether it’s answering a question or discussing a new technology or interesting design problem. We use our own Flexe StackOverflow and a mentor/mentee program within the team.
How has your career grown since starting at Flexe? #
I want to give a special shoutout to growth opportunities here. Flexe is all about growth and growing together. The problems we solve in the ever-growing logistics space fuels that growth. As the company grows, we get to also solve exciting engineering challenges.
