We are looking for a Director, Sourcing who will own a Flexe Network Super Region, drive regional growth and partner development strategy and lead a team of individuals focused on the same goal. In the day-to-day this individual will focus on building new national and multi-national warehouse partnerships, driving those partners to proposals on Flexe’s largest client projects, and managing our existing network of partners in their assigned region. The Regional Leader will own and develop a strategic geographic market in support of Flexe client needs for quality flexible fulfillment and logistics. The Regional Leader will work creatively to unlock distribution and fulfillment capacity in order to deliver on the “never full” commitment of our network. The Regional Leader will own all facets of partner success in their assigned market.
What you'll do
- Market Development & Maintenance:
- Identify, categorize, and develop pursuit strategies for warehousing partners.
- Networking with 1P and 3P fulfillment providers to evangelize the Flexe value proposition to potential partners. Attend local industry events.
- Manage regional team’s execution against pursuit strategies, and support specific pursuits when appropriate.
- Monitor regional health, capability and capacity levels relative to Flexe sales and growth targets.
- Join and assist regional team for critical commercial points for partner onboarding and management.
- Partner with other regional leaders on coordinated pursuits and growth strategies for national and multi-national partners.
- Act as regional expert informing the organization of any changes in regional conditions that would impact company goals or client needs.
- Deal Flow Support:
- Direct ownership of Flexe’s new and existing client growth objectives and revenue targets, in tandem with Flexe’s network growth goals.
- Partnership with Flexe’s Business Development and Account Management leaders on critical client opportunities, as representative of warehouse network.
- Partnership with cross-functional teams on improvements to handoffs, tools, process and strategy for deal cycles
- Ensure regional team’s deal flow performance against input metrics (bid speed, bid depth, bid price vs benchmarks, quality etc.)
- Team Leader:
- Manage all individual team members in assigned region, including Sr. Strategic Market Directors, Strategic Market Directors, and Market Managers
- Lead recruiting and onboarding efforts for new team members in region.
- Support team members in Market Development, Maintenance and Deal Flow activities as needed.
- Ready to play a player-coach role.
- Build objectives and key results targets for individuals, track performance to target, and coach team members to ensure targets are met.
- Solicit feedback from cross-functional teams, and resolve concerns
- Building Scale:
- Take initiative to identify problems, propose solutions, then execute, across all team activities.
- Take a leadership role on project success as assigned by Commercial leaders.
- Build KPIs and SLAs, drive performance against them, and improve baselines.
- Stay invested in industry happenings, and let leadership know of opportunities.
- Cross Functional Support:
- Monitor escalations regarding warehouse partners from Operations.
- Support our most complex deal negotiations for the Commercial team as needed.
- Support client onboardings as needed for larger, complex projects.
- Act as a voice of the warehouse network for Flexe projects and leadership discussions.
- Mentor Flexe team members on best practices in client and partner management, as well as distribution/fulfillment operations.
- Other special projects as required.
Does this sound like you?
- Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 6+ years experience in Sales and/or Client Management,
- 6+ years experience in Management and Leadership in a 3rd party logistics business required
- A deep knowledge of distribution and fulfillment operations required
- A track record of leading teams to great results required, ideally in a remote environment
- Experience hiring, training and growing teams
- Ability to credibly interface with clients and warehouse partners on a tactical/operational level and a strategic level
- Experience in account management including running QBRs, involvement in operational audits, and being the voice of the customer
- Deep experience with 3PL services agreements, procurement and negotiations strongly preferred
- Ability to manage long term planning in a strategic market
- Proficiency in Office, principally Excel and PowerPoint or Google suite principally Sheets and Slides
- Experience with WMS, ERP and TMS systems required
- Experience with CRM systems preferred
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with multiple stakeholders at a high level internally and externally
- Experience in building and testing processes
- Able to travel up to 50%
- Must be authorized to work in the US without restriction. We will not be sponsoring visas for this role at this time
- This is a fully remote position, based in the greater Central market.
