We are looking for a Principal User Experience Researcher to join our UX team as a strategic specialist in helping build easy-to-use products that enable our warehouse suppliers and retail customers to instantly get up to speed using our platform.
As an early member of the Flexe UX team, you’ll play an instrumental role in crafting a research practice, delivering insights, impacting key initiatives, broadening business outcomes, and changing lives. We’re looking for someone to help us bring industry-changing innovation to the logistics space.
This role can be 100% remote. Reports to Senior Manager, UX Design & Research.

What You'll Do

  • A hands-on tech­ni­cal leader, part­ner­ing inde­pen­dent­ly with stake­hold­ers to cre­ative­ly iden­ti­fy and explore new oppor­tu­ni­ties to help define prod­uct roadmaps, vision, and strat­e­gy at all stages of the prod­uct devel­op­ment lifecycle
  • Design and con­duct foun­da­tion­al, for­ma­tive, and eval­u­a­tive qual/​quant user research — uncov­er­ing pat­terns, pain points, and oppor­tu­ni­ties to dri­ve prod­uct inno­va­tion and cus­tomer suc­cess­In­flu­ence and lead large strate­gic ini­tia­tives in dis­cov­ery work­shops to help cap­ture, syn­the­size and focus deliv­ery of mean­ing­ful out­comes to meet our customer’s goals and needs
  • When gen­er­a­tive research is need­ed, work with a vari­ety of teams through field­work to deter­mine users’ phys­i­cal, cog­ni­tive, social, emo­tion­al, and cul­tur­al needs
  • Plan and con­duct inter­view ses­sions with users and stake­hold­ers, includ­ing executives
  • Have orga­ni­za­tion­al-wide impact that embod­ies the voice of the cus­tomer by deliv­er­ing mean­ing­ful insights on the user jour­ney and expe­ri­ence to inter­nal stake­hold­ers across design, devel­op­ment, busi­ness, and operations
  • Syn­the­size and com­mu­ni­cate research find­ings to dri­ve under­stand­ing and user empa­thy across the orga­ni­za­tion. Able to explain how research fits into the var­i­ous aspects of the UX process — from very ear­ly explorato­ry efforts through launch
  • Pio­neer new research meth­ods when cre­ativ­i­ty is necessary

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of expe­ri­ence plus will­ing­ness to share recent case studies
  • Deliv­er inde­pen­dent­ly in ambigu­ous sit­u­a­tions as a high judg­ment contributor
  • Cham­pi­on for end-to-end expe­ri­ence & inte­gra­tion of all aspects of research (study design, recruit­ing, mod­er­a­tion, analy­sis, reporting)
  • Expert under­stand­ing of user research meth­ods and best prac­tices. You also have a nim­ble, cre­ative, prag­mat­ic approach to push­ing the bound­aries of agile research
  • Excep­tion­al behav­ioral data-col­lec­tion and analy­sis skills, (e.g., design­ing, con­duct­ing, and ana­lyz­ing all kinds of user data)
  • You can work quick­ly while deliv­er­ing high-qual­i­ty out­puts. You will work on over­lap­ping projects, so are good at mul­ti-task­ing, jug­gling com­pet­ing pri­or­i­ties, and orga­niz­ing yourself
  • Expe­ri­ence in mul­ti­modal sys­tems design research
  • Demon­strat­ed abil­i­ty to coor­di­nate projects across func­tion­al teams, includ­ing engi­neer­ing, design, mar­ket­ing, finance, and operations
  • Excel­lent com­mu­ni­ca­tion, pre­sen­ta­tion, inter­per­son­al, and ana­lyt­i­cal skills; the abil­i­ty to com­mu­ni­cate com­plex con­cepts clear­ly and per­sua­sive­ly across dif­fer­ent audi­ences and vary­ing lev­els of the organization.
  • A thor­ough under­stand­ing of the rela­tion­ship between busi­ness, tech­nol­o­gy, and user expe­ri­ence and the role of user research + dri­ve stan­dards for research excellence
  • Com­fort­able artic­u­lat­ing study find­ings con­fi­dent­ly with clear impact analy­sis and mean­ing­ful rec­om­men­da­tions to mixed audi­ences and stake­hold­ers across the company
  • Be a coach & advo­cate for user research through knowl­edge shar­ing & edu­ca­tion Enthu­si­asm for work­ing in a respect­ful, trans­par­ent, and col­lab­o­ra­tive work environment
  • Will­ing­ness to trav­el for field research, as needed
