The Flexe Analytics team is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Flexe team to build the data foundation that enables the organization to generate the data insights needed to inform decisions. Reporting to the Director of Business Analytics, this role will strive to improve productivity and effectiveness for both our internal teams and external customers and warehouse partners. The ideal candidate has exceptional analytical, communication, and technical skills. Candidates should possess a natural curiosity for technology and drive to build out our Business Intelligence platform.

Responsibilities

  • Build­ing out the data foun­da­tion for scal­able ana­lyt­ics is at the heart of this role. You will be respon­si­ble for imple­ment­ing data sys­tems, build­ing data mod­els and curat­ed data sources that impact the growth of our ana­lyt­ics capabilities.
  • Per­form data inges­tion and har­mo­niza­tion for var­i­ous data sources from source sys­tems into Flexe’s Google Cloud Plat­form data­base (GBQ). This includes ver­i­fy­ing the accu­ra­cy and qual­i­ty of data, per­form­ing rou­tine data cleans­ing, trans­form­ing data into usable forms and set­ting up and main­tain­ing data loads at reg­u­lar cadence per SLA into an inte­grat­ed data mart. 
  • Respon­si­ble for cre­at­ing and main­tain­ing a set of curat­ed mas­ter prod­uct data in the inte­grat­ed data mart for use by Busi­ness Ana­lyt­ics, Oper­a­tions, Finance and oth­er down­stream data users. 
  • Col­lab­o­rate close­ly with inter­nal data users/​stakeholders to ensure usabil­i­ty of the BA curat­ed data sources.
  • Enrich the raw prod­uct data by build­ing out mod­eled dimen­sions and facts in the inte­grat­ed data mart. 
  • Col­lab­o­rate with mem­bers of the Busi­ness Ana­lyt­ics team to answer busi­ness ques­tions and ful­fill ana­lyt­ics requests from inter­nal customers. 
  • Design tech­ni­cal solu­tions that will solve their busi­ness prob­lems in a scal­able and repeat­able way.
  • Ana­lyze cus­tomers’ flow of goods and deliv­er insights to them that enable them to man­age their busi­ness and opti­mize their logis­tics network.
  • Test the solu­tion to ensure all data is accurate.
  • Review the final prod­uct and deliv­er to stakeholders
  • Peer-review oth­ers’ work for accu­ra­cy, scal­a­bil­i­ty, and best practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a BI engi­neer or ana­lyst with hands-on experience. 
  • Bach­e­lor degree required. Advanced degree pre­ferred. Pre­fer degrees in Com­put­er Sci­ence, Math­e­mat­ics, Sta­tis­tics, Applied Math­e­mat­ics, Engi­neer­ing, Busi­ness or relat­ed experience.
  • Expe­ri­ence in data inges­tion, cleans­ing, trans­for­ma­tion and loading. 
  • Knowl­edge of best prac­tice in build­ing data marts and data visualization. 
  • Proven abil­i­ty to man­age your work­load, orga­nize and pri­or­i­tize tasks, and clear­ly com­mu­ni­cate status.
  • Strong rela­tion­al data­base back­ground with hands-on expe­ri­ence build­ing reports and dash­boards. Pre­ferred tool set: SQL, Looker/​Tableau, Excel, Jira, Con­flu­ence, Metabase, Python, Git and oth­er Busi­ness Intel­li­gence tools.
  • Famil­iar­i­ty with Cloud Plat­form (Data, Ser­vices, Sched­uler, Pub/​Sub, etc.)
  • Expe­ri­ence with some object-ori­ent­ed/ob­ject func­tion script­ing lan­guages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
  • Must be autho­rized to work in the US. We will not be spon­sor­ing visas for this role at this time.
